We are the largest German organisation for families with higher multiple-birth children from triplets onwards and we are in contact to other internaitonal multiple-birth organisations as for example the International Society for Twin Studies. Our organisation was founded in 1982 by our honorary president Mrs. Helga Grützner. Our members consist of about 1500 Multiple-birth families. We know what we´re talking about when it comes to the numerous challenges that multiple-birth families have to face. All active members have triplets or even more children to care for. Additional challenges are not ......to us.
Our achieved goals up to now
We managed to create a nationwide lobby with a self-help character by our highly motivated commitment on political and scientific levels and our public relation work. Among other things it was achieved on a political scale that the „Erziehungsgeld“ which is the usual government support for every child that is newly born up to a maximum of 2 years of age, is being paid now per child and not per birth as was the case until 1989. Moreover the duration of the usual time of legal protection for expectant mothers was adapted. On a scientific scale we could supply certain incentives and a statistical basis for research work. Besides we organise meetings for parents and families.
Our commitment – our goals
We strive for improve the psychsocial situation of the multiple-birth families by extending our good contacts to ministries and authorities, doctors and hospitals and social organisations.
We want to support contacts among families and to enable them to take part in special recreation and cure-programmes.
